FlightDeck LT1 – Version 2 (no SuperHooks)

$75

Description

Description

Looking to upgrade your original FreeRadical, Radish or Cargo Joe to carry kiddos in Yepps seats or with a Hooptie? This is the deck for you. The LT1 v.2 FlightDeck is a super sturdy, waterproof, UV proof, scratch and ding resistant plastic deck that sits atop the V-racks and provides a surface for carrying cargo or passengers. It is made from 100% post-consumer high density polyethylene (HDPE), which reduces our ecological impact and keeps perfectly good plastic out of the waste stream. This deck requires a set of SuperHooks (sold separately) to attach the LT1 v.2 FlightDeck to your V-racks, ensuring a secure connection. Add a MagicCarpet (full or mini) for a padded cushion to increase rear passenger’s comfort.

Superhooks can be found here.

Compatibility

Compatibility
What Is This Not Compatible With:

This deck is NOT compatible with 2016 EdgeRunners, Leaps, Cargo Nodes, Yuba cargo bikes, Kona cargo bikes, or the Trek Transport.

Installation Notes:

Not sure if this is the deck your bike has? Check out the FlightDeck Identification Guide to verify.

If you intend to install an LT2 Hooptie on a bike with a wooden SnapDeck or metal deck – like those found on the Pre-2016 EdgeRunner, FreeRadical, Cargo Joe or Radish – this deck with the appropriate number of SuperHooks and Hooptie Retrofit Kit is required.

Do not use SnapHooks with this deck. The LT1 v.2 FlightDeck does NOT require Yepp adapters as the Yepp seat secures to a hole that must be cut into the deck.

This above picture shows the deck with these rectangular holes cut out but the deck arrives as a solid deck, with no pre-cut holes.

If you will be installing a Yepp Maxi seat on the deck, use two sets of SuperHooks for a total of 8 hooks.

  2. Question

Is it possible to mount two Yepp Maxi seats on to this deck on a Surly Big Dummy, on the Surly stock racks?

Hi. Can you please clarify- is this product compatible with Surly Dummy Rails? The reply above from May 13th only mentions the Yepp seats, not the rack compatibility question. The table in your blog post (http://www.xtracycle.com/blog/support/xtracycle-accessories-on-the-surly-big-and-big-fat-dummy/ ) says yes, but the discussion later in the article seems to suggest (to me) that one would need to buy the Leap V-racks to use this deck on a Surly bike. Thanks!

Hey there, Bradley. If you have a newer Big Dummy with Surly rails, we believe those need to be replaced with Leap V-racks to be compatible with the deck. You might be able to use this deck with the SuperHooks with the Surly rails but without us having access to that product to test it ourselves, we can’t say for sure. We offer free shipping so you could always just order the deck and SuperHooks to see how that works and if you need the Leap rails, order those after. Hope that helps, Bradley!

Is this what you need to convert an RFA Sport to an RFA Utility?

Hey there, Anthony! The LT2 FlightDeck is not compatible with the RFA. You will need the RFA UtilityRack to make this conversion. We do sell these racks but they are not listed on our website so folks interested in buying them should reach out to support@xtracycle.com. My teammate Marie-Claire says she is in contact with you and she will reach out directly!

Hey there! Yes, it is possible to mount two Yepp Maxi seats on this deck when the deck is installed on a Surly Big Dummy. I can’t say for the Surly stock deck. They use to discourage folks from installing Yepp seats on those decks but that might have changed. I would recommend reaching out directly to them to ask. Hope that helps!

Love the new flight deck! They come pre-notched so you can cut the squares out and snap in a Yepp Maxi seats in 5 like Seconds. We own 2 Edgerunners and my wife and I will swap the Yepp Maxi back and fourth depending on our ride setup for the day. It makes it a cinch!
