Description

Question: how might one aspiring SuperParent ditch the car keys, carbon emissions, and congested highways—and still get the kids to soccer practice early? Designed for ease of cargo loading and handling, the Swoop is your instrument for going all-in on the cargo bike lifestyle. Parked in the garage where your second car used to be, the Swoop is an obvious pick for quick coffee runs, Burning Man, school drop-offs, and cross-town errands alike. Is that your other car looking nervous?

For the vertically-challenged or not-so-flexible among us (or those that just don’t feel like kicking their kids in the face), this electric cargo bike’s low step-thru frame makes climbing aboard a breeze. With its highly-engineered steering stability, you’re still in control—even under a heavy load. And with a 20-inch rear wheel, petite and novice riders can handle the Swoop with mastery—undetectable noob-status for the win.

The Swoop comes equipped with the Shimano STEPS EP8 system:

  • The Shimano STEPS EP8 electric bike motor has a top pedal-assist speed of 20 mph and up-to 85 nM of torque for hilly terrain or heavier loads.
  • A single 630 watt-hour battery provides between 30 to 60 miles per charge, depending on conditions, and can be charged with the included EC-6002 charger.
  • The Shimano EC-6002 charger charges your battery from 0-100% in 10.2 hours or 0-80% in 7.5 hours.
  • The E5003 cycling computer gives easy handlebar access to system controls.
  • Learn more about the Shimano STEPS EP8 system here.

Included Xtracycle accessories:

  • Pair of Xtracycle FreeLoader Too sling bags
  • Pair of Xtracycle U-tube foot rests
  • Xtracycle KickBack 3 center kickstand
  • Xtracycle Longtail fenders
  • Front and rear Herrmans lights

    No regrets and loving it

    Maria

This bike is super fun to ride and makes it easy to do kid drop offs and pick ups ( even with 3)! I love the ability to increase the level of assistance when going in to the wind or up a hill, but it’s also easy to ensure a great workout. We’ve reduced our driving significantly using this bike and we are loving it!

    So glad I did!

    Amy G.

Honestly, I don’t have words to express how please I am with Swooptie (my new bike). Marie-Claire was absolutely fantastic – patient, informative and honest. Shipping was incredibly fast – Cali to NY in a week! And most importantly the bike – beautiful, comfortable and well designed. I bought my bike sight unseen, without ever test riding an Xtracycle and I am so glad I did.

    The best!

    Riley M.

Xtracycle cargo bikes have the best all-around designs and are especially amazing for families. They are strong, comfortable, and adaptable, which are all things we were looking for in a cargo bike. Our kids love our eSwoop and so do we!

Xtracycle helped us get outside more

    Tom H.

Our Xtracycle has really helped us get outside more as a family. More ambitious trips are possible on an electric cargo bike carrying passengers than otherwise. We’ve been doing long rides across town to start but will be doing some weekend touring trips soon. The Xtracycle is a very high-quality product and–although it’s the most expensive bike I’ve ever purchased–I have zero regrets because of the fun it has brought us and the future plans it has enabled.

    Absolutely love this bike!

    Laramie L.

I absolutely love this bike!! We live in a very bike friendly community and I ride everywhere with my kids in tow (sometimes all three!). We have had so many fun adventures around town now – parks, grocery shopping, beach lunches you name it. Saving money on gas too has bee nice!!

So much better than another car

    Richard F.

It’s so much better than another car. It’s convenient to roll right up to the beach or any other destination with all your stuff and not have to park in a parking lot. My wife is not a big cyclist, but now she carries the kids and beats me on fast rides, and has a great time doing it.

    A full car replacement

    Travis K.

We bought our Xtracycle swoop as a second car replacement. It’s turning out to be a full car replacement. It’s my first choice to jump on the bike to run to school or the store and I’m disappointed if we have to fall back to using the car. It’s easy to ride while still being incredibly fun and safe. Plus zone blue looks pretty.

I ruminated about whether to go human-powered or not and am SO glad that I went with a motor. I’m 130lbs and the bike and kids are a combined 130lbs so it’s very difficult to get the bike moving from a stop without a motor. The extra pedal-assist helps me clear intersections quickly.
