Kickstand Plate

A kickstand plate is required as shown in the main diagram, unless an alternative kickstand is incorporated. A loaded longtail puts a lot of stress on a kickstand, so the attachment must be extremely strong. The design shown in the diagram works well, and keeps most kickstand designs from rotating and working loose. Lighter designs with a simple 1” steel plate have been prone to failure, and should be avoided. Investing some effort in this part will help avoid customer service issues.
