Respecting the Shared Standard

Xtracycle has chosen to share the 'source code' for our inter-compatible line of bases and accessories so that other manufacturers and designers may design to our standard. Note, this shared-source relationship between us and you doesn't mean you are free to make and sell your own Free Radical like extensions, or independently claim that your product is 'LongTail Standard' compatible or Xtracycle Friendly. We see ourselves as the curators and stewards of this standard, and we determine which products merit the Xtracycle Friendly LongTail Design badge of approval.

Xtracycle Shared Source licensing permits non-commercial distribution of the source information (i.e. the content on this Wiki). Commercialization of the Long Tail Standard, use of the Xtracycle trademark without permission, or infringement of our patent is strictly forbidden.

We invite your feedback on the LongTail Standard and participation in the development of LongTail specific Acc's (Accessories). We have password protected certain documents to ensure against abuse of the above terms.
