Grist Magazine a beacon in the smog

Xtracycle co-founder Kipchoge Spencer is Grist Magazine's Interactivist of the week. He answers questions like this one:
What, in a perfect world, would constitute "mission accomplished"?
Mission accomplished is when mass pop culture realizes riding your bike to work is the coolest way to get there. The next step in this mission will be me giving Cameron Diaz a ride to the Oscars on the back of my bike and passing Leo in his Prius, stuck in traffic behind a fustercluck of limos.
Organic Style thinks we're {fresh}In the April 2004 issue of Organic Style, a monthly publication for people who appreciate the good life but have a sense of mission to leave the world a better place, included a nice bit about the FreeRadical. We're thrilled to be noticed.
Every Friday, Liz Bretko, owner of Heartsong Chai, delivers at least 75 pounds of chai around Jacksonville, Oregon. On a bike. The Xtracycle is a conventional bicycle with an extended frame, which makes it possible to add a rack, deck, and side pouches for carrying groceries, kayaks, and, yes, three coolers of chai-filled, gallon-size glass bottles. Bretko, who's not mechanically inclined, says assembly was “totally simple.” That's one less truck on the roads and, through XAccess, Xtracycle's nonprofit arm, more help providing bikes in developing countries where they're needed.
