Multi-Modal Bay Area Family Bike Camping

When it comes to squeezing a bike adventure into days book ended by a 9-5, it’s easy to get bogged down in the details. Therein lies the beauty of a local overnight – it can be bare bones when it comes to planning and executing, giving me few excuses to not load up my bike and hit the road or trail. Spring is right around the corner and what better time than now to stoke the fire of inspiration to get out there and explore your area with a quick bike overnight?

One of our favorite places to find the wild in the Bay Area bike camping trip is Angel Island (ancestral homelands of the Coast Miwok). It is a natural oasis a short ferry boat ride away from the Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. I love how this trip sees us riding our EdgeRunners with morning traffic in Oakland to rolling along winding roads through lush forest by the afternoon.

What overnight adventure is waiting outside your front door?
