Dad, Take Me Back to the 80s
5/30/12 9:31 AM
I was searching the web for stoker stems, and I stumbled upon this stunning image, a product 'problem' that begs for a solution, one few can provide. If you can prove you are the kid in this photo, we'll give you an Xtracycle.

posted on 6/29/12 4:15 PMThere's no doubt about it, that's Courtney and her Dad Mark. Remember seeing them at tandem rallies years ago during the period this photo was taken. The US tandem community is relatively small, and Mark and his family are well known to the community and own one of the best tandem shops in the US.

posted on 6/29/12 4:27 PMWow! You found us. Or we found you! Incredible the connecting power of the internet! Do tell us how you discovered our post - did you already know about Xtracycle?
You clearly have a long history on a bike. Nearly as long as Xtracycle's history it appears.
Anyways, it occurs to me that while I'm inclined to trust you, I still don't have true proof you are the munchkin in question.
If we can get true proof, we will award you an Xtracycle, $224.99 value. If you would like to reach to us directly, you can send an email to nate@xtracycle.com.
Good luck!

posted on 6/29/12 6:20 PMYou clearly don't understand how tightly knit the hard-core tandem community is. We've watched Courtney grow up for 14 years on the back of a tandem, along with her sister Natalie. How many of "us" do you need to weigh in with proof that Courtney is who she appears to be, particularly since you found the photo on her Dad's website at Precision Tandems.com????
Love the Xtracycle, but we also love Mark, Sue, Courtney, Natalie and their friend Julie, aka. Mighty Mouse... whom we've watched grow up from before she was a glimmer in her daddy's eye.
The entire family history on tandems was on the very page from which that photo came:

posted on 8/20/12 3:38 PMSorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, between summer homework and bike trips, I haven't been able to take a breath. In the last month since I have responded, I have thought of many things that might help me prove to you that the munchkin in the picture is me. As you mentioned facebook, I thought about my options but as I have seen from personal experiences, facebook is not for me. I have seen it tear apart friendships, of people I know personally, and it can make people someone who they are not. I seriously don't need the extra drama and although it is helpful in proving a person in a picture is me...I have something up my sleeve and I hope you'll find that out soon! Until then, think over what everyone has said. In the pictures, my dad looks the same, only a little older. And how many people do you think ride one of those bikes? Not many, I can tell you that.
Thanks!
