No need for name calling. Where exactly are you attaching the struts? To the V-rack receivers tubes? The stays? For the record, I'm working with a free-rad, not a BD.

Ah, the gorillas and the basketball players :D Glad to see this turned into a clear "look for things you don't expect" and "don't expect to be seen if you're unexpected" message, but too bad for the bloke who did it without crediting its source! (The original was done just down the road from here... http://viscog.beckman.uiuc.edu/grafs/demos/15.html - there's more good stuff there.)

Goodness, when I try to explain my Xtracycle I can point people at the FRONT page of the website now!!! It drove me nuts when people didn't actually get to *see* the thing in action :)

Here is my Big Dummy. Not sure I'll use it to commute every day as I have other lighter options, but it will sure make those short car trips to the grocery and hardware store easier.

the pea pod or bobike children seats how like to call them do fit on dummys... you can with some work attach the struts to the dummy frame... never on the v-racks, thats dumb and dangerous...

the ATB bracket with the bobike maxi should be sufficent...

Pod questions:

The stays from my pod are almost exactly as far apart as the V-racks. Did you do some bending? If so, are you concerned about the integrity of the thing? I screw up enough already, without my kid going off the back...

I'm getting ready to be really stoked about the Tekdex. Any samples for product reviews would be seriously considered.

Thanks for the good report. I'm with you on the bars; I use the widest Nitto upright-and-swept-back bars, sometimes called Albatross, 3-spd bars, wicked-witch-of-the-west bars, etc. I also just rebuilt my FreeRadical onto a smaller-than-I-usually-ride frame, for several reasons: the lower standover is good for mounting without kicking my daughter in the head (while she's sitting in the 'pod), the shorter top-tube compements the upright-and-swept-back bars and adds to all the benefits previously mentioned, and the bike now fits a wider variety of riders, including my wife. I also installed a Thudbuster seatpost, and my initial rides indicate it does what it's supposed to do. Thanks again.

I guess I'm a little confused. The peapod, or bobike, however you want to call it, has two mounts that I'm familiar with, the one that mounts to the rear stays and what they refer to as the "atb mount" which (I haven't seen one in person) appears to mount to the seat tube and looks like the one pictured above.

So it would seem from what I've seen in pictures that the "atb mount" should work with the big dummy, and yet the description above pretty much exclusively talks about the other mount despite the fact that the picture doesn't match whats being said...

I'm about to pull the trigger on a big dummy and will be using it with kids, so am indeed interested in the solutions to this so perhaps you could clarify a bit, with more pictures and explaining the difference between whats typed and whats i the picture above :)

Thanks!
