Xtracycle was founded out of a desire to be of service and out of a spirit of resourceful and creative solutions to every day problems. That spirit continues with our Ambassador program. We partner with grassroots organizations and individuals working to empower their communities through service. Xtracycle also gives 1% of our sales to Worldbike, our international Ambassador.
Xtracycle longtail bikes enable people and organizations to get the job done without adding significant cost to their operating budgets, while simultaneously limiting their environmental footprint. People's Grocery
People's Grocery is a community-based organization in West Oakland that develops creative solutions to the health problems in our community that stem from a lack of access to and knowledge about healthy, fresh foods. Our mission is to build a local food system that improves the health and economy of the West Oakland community.
We're excited to see Xtracycles being put to use to help improve the health and nutrition for those benefiting from People's Grocery.
Pedaling Against Poverty Tour
Ben Sollee, a mutli-talented musician from Kentucky, wanted to change the way he toured. Instead of relying on gasoline powered transport, Ben sought a greener mode of travel. Seeing an Xtracycle on CurrentTV, Ben realized that his large cello would fit easily on our longtail platform.
